DIGITAL LOGIC SIMULATOR

Multimedia Logic - Tutorial 1 - Simple Circuits

Tutorial 2 - AND / OR Gates

These are some videos that show or teach you on how to use the software

 of multimedia logic.

But!!!!

You should download and install the software of multimedia logic.

These are some links to get the software..

or

you can get the software from this video and it also show you how and

where to download the software....

Input and Output Devices

INPUT DEVICES :-

Keyboard || Mouse || Scanner || CD-Rom || Game Controller

OUTPUT DEVICES :-

Monitor || Printer || Disk Drive || Floppy Drive || CDRW-Rom || Speaker

This is an examples of input and output devices...

Input and output is the communication between an information processing system and the outside world.

Input :- the signal or data received by the system
Output :- the signal or data sent by the system

In computer architecture, the combination of the CPU and main memory is considered the brain of a computer.

Input and output devices can be characterized by
  1. Behavior :- input, output, storage
  2. Partner :- human or machine
  3. Data rate :- bytes/sec, transfer/sec

Input and output System Design :-

What is input design and output design in system design ?????

Input design is input facilities the entry of data into the computer system. Input design involves the selection of the best strategy for getting data into the computer system at the right time as accurately as possible. This is because the most difficult aspect of input design in accuracy. The use of well-defined document can encourage users to record data accurately without omission.

For example, if the the customer's telephone number is needed input data, the sales order form should have a specific line that is clearly labeled "customer telephone number". Having several lines labeled "customer information" would be less effective.

This is because sometimes only the name and address would be filled in leaving out the telephone number. Input design must capture all the data that the system needs, without introducing any errors. Input errors can be greatly reduced when inputting directly by using appropriate forms for data capture and well designed computer screen layout.

Example of typical transformation process...

Server Computers :-
  • Applications are increasingly run on servers
    • web search
    • office applications
    • virtual worlds
  • Requires large data center servers
    • multiple processors
    • networks connections
    • massive storage
    • space and power constraints
  • Server equipment built for 19" racks
    • multiples of 1.75" (1U) high

This two figures shows that the flow of the server computers...

DIGITAL LOGIC

This is the basic logic gates that you must know before learn others..

You also need to remember that we need the value of 0 and 1 only...

This is some example of truth table...

These are the samples of logic circuit..

An example of Sum-of-products (SOP) and Product-of-sums (POS)..

We have 2 ways to simplify the Boolean equation :-

1)  By using Karnaugh Map

First video...

Second video...

Third video..

Fourth video..

2)    By using Laws of Boolean Algebra...

This is the Basic Laws of Boolean Algebra..

These all the videos on how to convert information from circuit to truth table to Karnaugh Map. And last, simplified it to Boolean expressions..

Good luck guys..

I really hope you can understand this video.. Take your time and listen these video..

Introduction to computer :)

WHAT IS COMPUTER ?

An electronic device that accept data (input), process input to useful information (process), according to a set of instructions, store the instructions and the results of processing (storage), and produce the information (output).

2 IMPORTANT ELEMENTS :

  • Hardware

  • Software

ARCHITECTURE & ORGANISATION

What is architecture ?
  • those attributes visible to the programmer
  • Instruction set, number of bits used for data representation, I/O mechanisms, addressing techniques.
What is organisation ?
  • how features are implemented
  • Control signals, interfaces, memory technology.
STRUCTURE & FUNCTION

structure :

  • the way in which components relate to each other.
  • top-level :

From the Top-Level Structure, a computer consists of four main structural components, which are:
  1. Central processing unit (CPU) – referred as processor, perform data processing and control the operation of the computer
  2. Main memory – stores data
  3. I/O – move data between the computer and its external environment
  4. System interconnection - provides communication among CPU, maim memory and I/O
  • the CPU

CPU itself consists of several components such as:

  1. registers – provides storage internal to the CPU
  2. arithmetic and logic unit (ALU) – perform data processing function
  3. control unit – control the operation of CPU
  4. internal CPU interconnection – provides communication among ALU, registers and control unit

function :

  • the operation of individual components as part of the structure.
  • four basic functions performed by a computer system :
--> data processing
--> data storage (long term data storage function and short term data storage function)
--> data movement (movement between computer and peripheral known as input / output (I/O), movement over longer distances known as data communication)
--> control

CLASSES OF COMPUTERS :

  • Desktop computer

  • Server computer

  • Embedded computer

COMPUTER TYPES :

~ microcomputer ~

~ workstation ~

~ mainframe ~

~ supercomputer ~

where it begin...

Assalamualaikum n hello dear friends ! :D

We were assigned an assignment by our lecturer, En. Fairuz to make a blog about our subject which is Computer Organisation & Architecture (C.O.A). So here it is where are you reading on :)

Since this is our first time making a blog, we do hope you will gain something from our post and ignore it if we might lacking on something or you can leave a comment whether to motivate us or tell us to improve our post oritee :)

okayy. there are 5 members in our group which is :

  1. Siti Na'ilah bt yusop
  2. Siti Faidzah bt Abdul Razak
  3. Nohazuani bt Mohd Ghani
  4. Nur Syafiqah Amnani bt Adnan
  5. Wan Nur Najihah bt Wan Jusoh

Each member will have to post a different subtopic that we have learned in lectures and laboratory sessions.
Do enjoy our blog !
